Adam Rosales was robbed of a game-tying home run after the umpires blew an instant replay review in the ninth inning of Wednesday’s game between the Oakland A’s and Cleveland Indians.

The A’s were down 4-3 with two outs in the top of the ninth. Rosales was facing Indians closer Chris Perez and took him deep to left. The ball traveled out of the park and hit the railing in front of the seats in the left field bleachers. It deflected off the railing and hit off the top of the wall, landing back in play. Rosales ran out the play and ended up with a double.

Despite reviewing the play on instant replay, the umpires gave Rosales a double instead of a home run. Oakland got the next two runners on, but Seth Smith grounded out with the bases loaded to end the game.

In the screenshot below, you can see that the ball hit off the iron fence:

A’s pitcher Brett Anderson derided the call over Twitter shortly after the game ended:

How can you blame them? That home run would have tied the game at four. And how can you blow a call after seeing it on replay?

No surprise second base umpire Angel Hernandez was part of this blown call; he’s also responsible for one of the worst strike calls we have seen.

Earl Thomas: Refs need to stay out of it and let us dominate

Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas wasn’t afriad to question the officiating following his team’s 28-26 loss to the St. Louis Rams on Sunday. Despite the fact that Seattle fell down 21-3 due to horrendous play early on, it was able to pull to within two points before a controversial ruling in St. Louis’ favor on a Tre Mason fumble enabled the Rams to kneel down in victory...

Browns lament ‘unacceptable’ loss to winless Jaguars

It was the classic trap game. The Browns, fresh off a blowout victory over the Steelers, traveled to Jacksonville to take on the winless Jaguars. Many expected surging Cleveland to roll over the Jags for their fourth win in five weeks. The game was in the bag for Mike Pettine's squad. Except it wasn't. In a haphazard, sloppy performance, the Browns were held out of the...

Report: CJ Spiller suffers broken collarbone

Both Jason La Canfora and Adam Schefter are reporting that Bills RB C.J. Spiller sustained a broken collarbone during Sunday’s game against the Vikings. Spiller was carted off the field with a towel over his head and was reportedly sobbing, so it was clear that this was a major injury. To make matter worse for the Bills, they also lost Fred Jackson to a leg injury. Bryce Brown...

Everybody knew DeMarco Murray was a very good running back coming into the season, but he’s now entering legendary territory. Report: Things got 'ugly' in Bears' locker room after loss

Following an extremely frustrating loss to the Miami Dolphins, several Chicago Bears players removed from the locker room due to it getting too heated. You saw Brandon Marshall briefly lose his temper on the field, but a lot of people get annoyed with Cortland Finnegan. Did it carry into the locker room? In a surprise to nobody, I’m told it was Marshall in the middle of the postgame...
