During the bottom of the 8th inning of the game between the Houston Astros and Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field on Wednesday night, a fan flashed some sweet catching skills after a foul ball off the bat of Mariners first baseman Justin Smoak. With the ball descending down on him, this young man utilized the only thing he had in his possession that could be used in place of a glove, something he thankfully did not have on him as grown men should never bring gloves to games: His beer cup. With his pals jockeying for position under the foul ball, he snatched the ball out of their respective clutches by catching it his glass. And then, without any regard for the dirty ball floating in his cup of suds, proceeded to slam his beer in classic brewski-slugging fashion. Via MLB.com: Kudos, good sir. That’s how you do it. Although at the ridiculous prices of beers at ball games, I have to dock a few points off his beer-swilling exhibition score for wasting so much of that sweet, precious liquid of intoxicating goodness. Josh Gordon has been radio silent since word leaked of a potential suspension for all of 2015, but it turns out that the Cleveland Browns wide receiver was just waiting for the right time to shoot back at his critics. Belichick, Brady can't imagine Hall of Fame without Seau

CHANDLER, Ariz. — If Junior Seau isn’t elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday, then Tom Brady and Bill Belichick will have an issue with the selection committee. Seau played four seasons with the New England Patriots from 2006 to 2009, appearing in 38 games, recording 4.5 sacks and 121 tackles. Seau is a first-time Hall of Fame finalist this season, and Belichick...

Teammate: Johnny Manziel is definitely not a joke

The main goal for Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel heading into the 2015 NFL season will be to make people forget what a disaster his rookie year was. Former NFL QB Jeff Blake: Everyone deflates footballs

The way Jeff Blake tells it, the New England Patriots wouldn’t be doing anything out of the ordinary if they were intentionally deflating footballs. Columnist: Media should boycott Skittles to protest Lynch

Marshawn Lynch hasn’t endeared himself to the media, which is a big no-no — according to the media.   Lynch has done a terrific job of annoying reporters this week at the Super Bowl. The Seattle Seahawks running back mailed in media day and followed that up with another refusal to say anything of substance Wednesday. That led to passionate takes from sportswriters across...

WATCH: Irving scores career-high 55, hits game winner

With Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James currently sidelined due to a sprained wrist, the team needed someone to step up in his absence on Wednesday night. Kyrie Irving did just that—and then some. Irving torched the Blazers and scored a career-high (and NBA season-high) 55 points on a 17-of-36 shooting performance. He was particularly dangerous behind the arc—knocking down...

Gronk on interest in his partying: 'I'm a baller'

It would have been extremely difficult for Rob Gronkowski to top his performance on Tuesday during Super Bowl Media Day, what with his stupefied reading of a passage from the erotic novella, “A Gronking to Remember,” among other entertaining antics.
