The Boston Red Sox were able to pick up their fifth straight win on the road Sunday against the Minnesota Twins, but it took a little while to do it. The Red Sox came back out and captured the win after a three-hour rain delay.

Starting pitcher John Lackey pitched six innings in the 5-1 victory, but he knew after the first half hour of the delay that he wouldn’t be going back into the game. Lackey said the team spent the time watching classic baseball movie "The Sandlot" in the clubhouse.

David Ortiz Homers Twice in Red Sox Victory

David Ortiz continues to slug and he certainly let his former team experience just that on Saturday night. Ortiz would account for half of the 12 runs scored by Boston in its 12-5 victory over the Minnesota Twins. Pedro Martinez Says Red Sox Players Took Shots During 2004 Playoffs

The 2004 Boston Red Sox team achieved some special things that season. They made that historical and improbable comeback from a 3-0 deficit to the New York Yankees in the American League Championship Series, and then went on to win the team’s first title in 86 years when they beat the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series. The loose clubhouse atmosphere was a staple for that...

Dustin Pedroia: Mr. Dependable

Sam Galanis Contributing Writer Dustin Pedroia may just be the epitome of who the Red Sox are. It may not always be perfect or pretty, but they get the job done. And they both certainly exemplified that during Friday’s 3-2 extra innings win over the Minnesota Twins. Pedroia has been getting criticism for not being a power hitter so far this season, as he has only one home run...

49ers reportedly 'shopping' LaMichael James

The San Francisco 49ers are reportedly “shopping” running back LaMichael James, per Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee. The report doesn’t exactly come as a shock, as James has received just 44 offensive touches since entering the league as a second round pick (No. 61 overall) out of Oregon in the 2012 NFL Draft. But looking back, it’s pretty stunning that within two years...
