From Larry Brown Sports:

There was a brief delay during the sixth inning of the Rockies-Dodgers game at Coors Field on Friday when a squirrel made a repeat appearance and ran around for about a minute. The squirrel first went for Dodgers starter Chris Capuano before hanging out at the feet of third base coach Rich Dauer. It eventually exited the field through the Dodgers’ dugout, allowing Jordan Pacheco to resume his at-bat.

We’re guessing the Rockies, which won 13-3, weren’t bothered by the critter. At least this delay was much better than what happened last month in Colorado.

The only remaining question is if this squirrel will end up on a ring like the "Rally Squirrel" that became famous during the Cardinals' World Series run last year after making appearances during the NLDS.

  • Baseball is so boring they had to hire a squirrel for a side show, too bad they didn't teach it any tricks or something. But then again were talking about a sport enjoyed by people who like to wait for hours before any real action happens. I guess a squirrel walking around would be refreshing entertainment.
  • Don't be dissing Rally Squirrel. The first time Rally Squirrel showed up Rockies won 6-1. Last night it showed up and Rockies went on a tear. The only thing that can break the good luck karma of the squirrel is bees.
  • There's something to be said for the Rally Squirrel ... look what he did for the Cardinals last season!

LA Dodgers and Matt Kemp Clearly Learned Nothing From NFL Regarding Hamstring Injuries

The Los Angeles Dodgers placed Matt Kemp on the 15 day Disabled List a couple of weeks ago when he suffered a hamstring injury. Kemp said he never felt that bad, and would definitely be back as soon as he was eligible to return to the lineup. Well, he was right. He returned the first day possible. He then went on to injure himself during that same game, and now he is...

Dodgers not down despite two Thursday losses

LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers entered their Thursday night affair with the Brewers after already having lost the series, dropping their third game in a row Wednesday night becoming the last team in the league to do so. Before the game started Thursday, they suffered another loss, learning Matt Kemp would return to the 15-day disabled list after suffering another strain to the left...

Dodgers Attempt to Replace Kemp with Castellanos

Matt Kemp‘s frustration was apparent as he rounded second base in the first inning of last night’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers. Fears of the worst were confirmed as Kemp destroyed a bat in frustration: the Dodgers’ star expects to return to the disabled list, and he could miss more than two weeks this time around. The Dodgers are without question a star driven team...

Rockies call up Brothers, send down Torres

The Colorado Rockies recalled left-handed pitcher Rex Brothers from Class AAA Colorado Springs and sent down right-handed pitcher Carlos Torres, the club announced Saturday. Brothers had a 1.69 ERA with 13 strikeouts, three walks and three hits allowed in 5 1/3 innings for the Sky Sox. He is 2-2 with a 5.87 ERA, with 21 strikeouts and 12 walks in 22 appearances for the Rockies...

Matt Kemp goes back on DL with hamstring injury

Matt Kemp's ailing hamstring, which he aggravated in last night's Dodgers loss against the Brewers, has once again forced him to the DL. Kemp had an MRI done this morning, and it was revealed that he had a grade 1 strain, which was the same as he had before, as well as the mildest type of strain. Kemp will apparently be missing four weeks at minimum. To replace Kemp on the...

Video: Matt Kemp breaks bat over his knee after re-injuring hamstring

This probably wasn’t the best way for Los Angeles Dodgers star outfielder Matt Kemp to begin treatment after re-injuring his hamstring Wednesday night… Kemp was playing in just his second game back after a 14-game stint on the disabled list for a sore hamstring. Kemp will have an MRI Thursday to find out the extent [...]

Rockies' Tulowitzki placed on disabled list

Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki was placed on the 15-day disabled list Thursday after straining his left groin during Wednesday's 13-5 victory over the Astros. Tulowitzki's groin has been bothering him since the season's opening series against Houston in April. "It's tough," Tulowitzki said, according to MLB.com. "The first thing I thought...

Taking a look at Alex Castellanos, the prospect set to replace Matt Kemp

As mentioned yesterday, Matt Kemp injured his hamstring and according to the Dodgers official Twitter, he will be headed to the disabled list. Kevin Goldstein of Baseball Prospectus confirmed that the Dodgers would be calling up prospect Alex Castellanos from AAA Albuquerque to take his place on the roster. Because I’m slow and busy, I

75 cents to watch the 1st place Dodgers

The Dodgers are 32-18 and have a 5.5 game lead for first place. They have the best record in baseball. However, you can still buy tickets to watch the Dodgers play for under a dollar. Wow… Financial problems or not, 75 cents is crazy. I thought the Mets and their 5 dollar tickets was crazy.

Rockies' Gonzalez homers in four straight at-bats

Colorado Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez hit a three-run homer off the Astros' Bud Norris in his first at-bat Thursday night at Coors Field to set a team record with home runs in four straight at-bats. Gonzalez had homers in his final three at-bats in Wednesday night's 13-5 victory over the Astros. Gonzalez tied a Major League record for homers in consecutive plate...

Moyer’s Career Crossroads

The Rockies designated Jamie Moyer for assignment this week, likely spelling the end of his short run in Colorado. A year removed from undergoing Tommy John surgery, Moyer showed some positive signs over his 10 starts with the Rockies, but the team was discouraged with the overall results and opted to head in a different direction. While the designation for assignment doesn’t...

Dodgers commit 4 errors in loss to Rockies

DENVER (AP) -- Wilin Rosario hit a two-run homer and the Colorado Rockies took advantage of four Dodgers errors to romp past Los Angeles 13-3 Friday night for its season-high fifth straight win. Pinch hitter Chris Nelson and Michael Cuddyer added back-to-back solo homers off reliever Josh Lindblom in the eighth inning. Colorado scored four unearned runs and sent the Dodgers to their...

Dugout Digest - the Dodgers are struggling

The Dodgers have lost five in a row, and last night was the cherry on top of that streak, a 13-3 loss to the Rockies. The first four games in the streak came to the Brewers, who came into the series in LA nine games under .500. Before last night's game, the Rockies were eight games under .500. Seriously, Dodgers? With Matt Kemp out at least a month, and the Dodgers already...
