As much as Ryan Dempster hates facing the Angels, I think it’s safe to say Mike Napoli loves it. He has become an Angel killer since joining the Rangers, and I don’t mind that one bit.
Derek Holland owes Napoli a dinner or a bottle of his favorite booze. Something. Anything. His catcher bailed him out of a mess that started early. Holland allowed four Angels runs on five hits in the 1st inning. It looked like it was going to be an ugly night.
But the Rangers got a run back in the bottom of the frame on a Josh Hamilton RBI double. They got two more in the 2nd on solo home runs by David Murphy and Napoli. This is where Napoli’s greatness begins. But does not end. He drove in five more runs on another home run in the 3rd and a double in the 5th.
