The Washington Nationals signed righthander Edwin Jackson to a one-year contract Thursday. The deal was worth $10 million for the 28-year-old Jackson, who split last season between the Chicago White Sox and St. Louis Cardinals. Jackson went 5-2 in 12 starts with the Cardinals and was 1-1 in four postseason starts for the World Series champions. He made 19 starts with the White Sox, posting a 7-7 record and 3.92 ERA. Jackson is 60-60 in parts of nine seasons with seven teams. He won 14 games with Tampa Bay in 2008 and had 13 wins for Detroit in 2009.
