Syracuse Chiefs (AAA) won 5-4. Matt Chico went 5 innings allowing 8 hits and 3 runs. Josh Wilkie (4-3) earned the win, throwing 2 innings and allowing 1 unearned run. Adam Carr picked up his 5th AAA save. Brian Bixler was 4 for 5 with a double and triple. Mike Martinez and Peter Orr each had two hits. Martinez hit his first AAA home run.
Harrisburg Senators (AA) won 6-3 behind another strong start by the best pitcher in the Nationals system. Tom Milone (11-5) threw 6.1 innings, allowing 4 hits and 3 runs. Milone is now 11-5 with a 2.93 ERA. Cole Kimball picked up his 8th AA save. Overall, Kimball on the season is 6-1 with 12 saves and a combined ERA of 2.11. Offensively, Chris Marrero remains the hot batter, homering for the second consecutive night, number 17. Marrero was 2 for 3 and is now 9 for 16 over his last 4 games. Jesus Valdez was 2-3 with an RBI and 2 doubles. Tim Pahuta hit his 20th home run.
Potomac Nationals (A) lost 4-2. Trevor Holder (2-3) took the loss, allowing 5 hits and 4 runs over 5 innings. The Nationals only managed 3 hits offensively, 2 coming from Nick Moresi.
Hagerstown Suns (A) played a double headers. They won Game 1 5-3 behind 5 strong, shutout innings by starter Graham Hicks. Hicks scattered 5 hits and struck out 3. Kyle Morrisonn (3-5) threw 2 shutout innings to earn the win out of the Suns bullpen. Rick Hague hit his 2nd home run and went 2 for 5. Adrian Sanchez continues to swing a mean bat, going 4 for 5 for the Suns and raising his batting average to a whopping .385. JP Raimrez, Destin Hood, and Justino Cuevas all had 2 hits a piece. In Game 2, the Suns blew another quality start from Paul Demny, falling 2-1. Demny pitched 6 innings and allowed 2 unearned runs, but took the loss to drop to 6-8. Cuevas added two more hits in Game 2, Ramirez knocked in a run and doubled.
Vermont Lake Monsters game was cancelled.
