Tom Gorzelanny dazzled in his start for the Washington Nationals on Saturday afternoon, but his offense mustered zero runs and two hits in a 3-0 loss to the White Sox. This solid outing was much needed for the lefty (see bashing rant) after being erratic before landing on the disabled list and missing a month. Unfortunately for him, allowing one run was enough to earn his 6th loss of 2011. A sacrifice fly from the third batter of the game (Carlos Quentin) gave Chicago a series split after dropping an extra innings affair on Friday night to open the set. Jake Peavy made his first career relief appearance and was brilliant over four innings. With the bullpen heavily used the night before and starter John Danks leaving in the 2nd inning due to injury, the former Cy Young hurler delivered a performance that reminded folks of his dominant self.
