Anew tv show that I will avoid like the plague called “Baseball Wives” premieres this week. And even though that piece of VH1 crapola is guaranteed to dumb you down, I feel this week deserved a post in that vein. The Chicago Cubs signed longtime Oakland Athletics OF David DeJesus yesterday, which means Kimberly DeJesus, Kim DeJesus, previously known as Kim Iliff is now in Chicago. And if she was on that stupid reality show she’d blow all the other baseball wives out of the water. Observe.

Nobody ***** With The DeJesus

(props to Jacos for the headline) The Cubs signed OF David DeJesus to a 2-year/$10 million deal with a 3rd year club option. It's actually $4.25M for the next two years with a $1.5M buyout or $6.5M in 2014. A Jim Bowden tweet indicates that the Cubs told him DeJesus will be the everyday right fielder. Dejesus will be 32 next season and played for the A's last year and had...

DeJesus signs with Cubs...

Only reason I'm posting about this guy coming off the board is because there were many Mets fans who wanted him signed. David DeJesus has signed a two year 10M contract with the Cubs. The problem with DeJesus is that he doesn't have the typical power for the NL corners and no longer has the range to be a starting center fielder. I think DeJesus is better suited for the...

This morning we look at three top stories: Is Tyler Colvin still in the picture for a Cubs OF spot? Is Jerry Reisndorf willing to splurge? What makes David DeJesus such a lucky man? Read on to find out about all three. Plus a look at a picture that may cause you to mess your pants followed by... To read the rest of the post, be sure to visit us at www.viewfromthebleachers.com

Cubs Agree To Two-Year Deal With Outfielder David DeJesus

After plenty of shuffling in the front office and the hiring of a new manager, Theo Epstein and Jed Hoyer can finally get down to business as far as the type of players we’ll be seeing on the North Side in 2012. The first of those new faces is David DeJesus, who agreed to a two-year contract with the Cubs on Wednesday. The deal includes an option for a third year. DeJesus is...

Fantasy Impact: DeJesus Signs with Cubs and Rockies Ship Iannetta to Angels

Winter meetings are just around the corner, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of moves to ponder. I’ll do my best to avoid discussing the impact of relief pitcher signings because players that might be closers now (Daniel Bard) might not be closers very soon (Ryan Madson to Red Sox?). As for the rest of the positions, there’s much we can glean early...

David DeJesus Signing: Really Theo?

In the first roster move of his legendary tenure as Chicago Cubs orchestrator Theo Epstein has announced the signing of a two year deal for David DeJesus.  DeJesus will be paid $4.25 million in ’12 and ’13 and there’s a club option for ’14 worth $6.5 million with a $1.5 million buyout.  When the first sentence from of club GM Jed Hoyer mentions DeJesus&...

DeJesus eager to begin Cubs tenure

A couple of months ago, free agent David DeJesus, his wife and 18-month-old son moved into a new house in suburban Wheaton, Ill., to be closer to his wife's family. They didn't know at the time David's next team would be an easy commute from home.

Cubs' DeJesus ready to play hard, be accountable

Theo Epstein Gets to Work With Cubs, Signs David DeJesus to Two-Year Deal

Theo Epstein got his manager a couple of weeks back, and now he's wading into the free-agent pool, making his first splash as Cubs president. The Cubs inked outfielder David DeJesus to a two-year deal on Wednesday, marking the first player-related move in Epstein's and new general manager Jed Hoyer's reign on the North Side of Chicago. The 31-year-old outfielder represents...

Hot Corner: It's good to be ... David DeJesus

The Cubs signed him Wednesday to a two-year deal with a club option for a third that could pay him $15 million. And his wife, Kimberly, is excited, too. She tweeted that she was ‘‘born and raised’’ in Wheaton, her dad had Cubs season tickets and Ryne Sandberg was her childhood crush. ‘‘When I was 7 I had a Ryan sandberg poster in my room and told everyone that I was gonna...

Your Morning Phil: DeJesus, Paddy, Jenks

Talking baseball while wishing ESPN the Magazine had spared us the Ozzie Guillen/dog kisser cover: 1) Sometimes it really is good to think about something. I’m glad I didn’t write about the David DeJesus signing on Wednesday, when it happened, because I would have gotten it wrong.

Cubs buy time for Jackson with DeJesus deal

Phil Rogers: The free-agent signing of David DeJesus means Brett Jackson probably will start 2012 with Triple-A Iowa, a far better situation than had Theo Epstein and Jed Hoyer handed Jackson the right-field job in spring training.
