Raise the Jolly Roger!:
First of all, I’m down a couple percentage points and need you to keep voting for me (Brian) to win a scholarship. The voting goes on until Wednesday and although I feel bad about constantly posting about it, you can vote every day so I think it’s still possible to make up the deficit.

The Pirates tweeted:
As expected, the Pirates didn’t offer arbitration to Ryan Ludwick or Chris Snyder.
Brian Jeroloman was claimed off waivers by the Blue Jays. Jeroloman had an illustrious Pirates career. On Friday the Bucs claimed him off waivers and put him on the 40-man roster. On Monday they took him right back off the 40-man roster after signing Clint Barmes. Then the Blue Jays grabbed him back off waivers on Wednesday.
The other day I mentioned that I thought leaving Eric Fryer off the 40-man seemed like a curious decision, but he cleared waivers so the Bucs will get to retain him.
The Bucs signed six minor league free agents: Kyle Cofield, Jose Diaz, Brandon B...

The Pittsburgh Pirates have offered arbitration to free agent first baseman Derrek Lee, and have declined arbitration offers to catcher Chris Snyder and outfielder Ryan Ludwick.

Fryer cleared waivers today and was outrighted to AAA. Jeroloman, on the other hand, was claimed...

Barmes(pronounced BAR-mus), who played with Waterloo in 1999 and 2000, signed a two-year deal worth $10.5 million, making the 32-year-old middle infielder currently Pittsburgh's highest-paid player going into next year.
Happy Thanksgiving! Checking in with the Pirates’ players and friends in Wednesday’s winter league action:
PUERTO RICAN LEAGUE
Indios de Mayaguez 1, Criollos de Caguas 0

Here are today's minor moves...
Pirates catcher Eric Fryer cleared waivers, according to Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com. The 26-year-old had been designated for assignment last week. The Mariners signed infielder...
