San Diego plucked Triple-A OF Jeremy Hermida outright from the Reds' waivers list on Wednesday. Hermida - an International League All-Star in 2011 - hit .319 with 17 homers and 55 RBI during his time in Louisville this season. Hermida's departure puts Cincinnati's 40-man roster at 39 just a day before the rosters are set to expand. His spot will likely be taken by top catching prospect Devin Mesoraco. Mesoraco is hitting .289/.371/.484 with 15 HR and 71 RBI this year for the Bats. He has also thrown out 26% (28-80) of potential base stealers.
