The Kansas City Royals may have to add Brad Thompson to their roster. Thompson is about the only pitcher wearing a blue hat that says KC that has actually recorded outs this spring.
With a spot or two up for grabs in the pen and a rotation that has fallen on it’s face this spring the versatility of Thompson may gain him a gig with the Royals.
Thompson, a veteran of five seasons all of which came with St. Louis, is far better as a relief option then a starting pitcher but being able to give the Royals innings may be the biggest key.
There are trade rumors swirling around Juan Cruz and Kyle Farnswo
rth this spring but there doesn’t appear to be a ton of teams who could take on that type of money.
More or less Thompson pretty much assumes the role that Jamey Wright filled so great for Kansas City last season.
