Recently the Oakland A’s put Coco Crisp through waivers but there has been little to no interest for the center fielder. I have to say I find this shocking. I don’t think Coco is an amazing baseball player but I do think he is very solid. He could really help a team fighting for a playoff spot. So I don’t understand why those teams haven’t come calling. Coco has been totally healthy this year and has put up some good numbers on this offensively anemic team. In a 106 games Crisp has given the A’s a .271 average and 37 stolen bases. His speed alone should have other teams interested. If that isn’t enough Coco Crisp has a .281 average during his 20 games of postseason play. So he has proven he can hit in the post season. So why are teams not interested? The only thing I can think of is that if teams are interested they have offered garbage and we just haven’t heard about them. That doesn’t seem very likely though.
