MLB Injury News:
The Orioles are looking to acquire a bat before the end of August and are exploring many options. They have claimed Josh Willingham and Kendrys Morales off waivers and have talked to the Twins about a deal for Justin Morneau, but the Orioles are still trying to find another bat and have claimed another power hitter.
The Baltimore Orioles have claimed Seattle Mariners outfielder Mike Morse off revocable waivers, according to Jon Heyman of CBS.
During this past offseason, the Washington Nationals traded Mike Morse to the Mariners in a three-team deal that sent Morse to the Mariners, right-handed pitcher A.J. Cole and Blake Treinen to the Nationals and John Jaso to the Athletics.
Morse is capable of hitting 25+ home runs in a season and has done it before. In 2011, he hit 31 home runs with the Nationals and hit a career high .303. This year, however, Morse has struggled and has had one of his worst seasons at the big league level. He is hitting .226 with 13 home runs and 27 RBI's. The 31-year old Morse is a free agent at years end and would be a good addition for the Orioles, as he will likely be the cheapest of options and he could provide another power element to their lineup.
