The Baltimore Orioles are keeping it in the family. The team selected the son of legendary Orioles "Iron Man" Cal Ripken Jr. Wednesday in the 20th round of the MLB Draft Ryan Ripken, a senior first baseman at the Gilman School in Baltimore, hit. 377 with 25 RBI last season. The 6-6, 205-pounder also amassed a 4-1 record and 2.30 ERA on the mound, according to MLB.com. The younger Ripken is slated to play ball for the University of South Carolina in the fall. Cal Ripken Jr. spent his entire 21-year Hall of Fame career in Baltimore, winning two American League MVP Awards. The 19-time All-Star is best remembered for breaking Lou Gehrig's all-time record of 2,130 consecutive games played in 1995. Ripken extended the streak to 2,632 games before he finally took a day off three years later.
