The Victory Formation:
Do you remember the story about how upset top Baltimore Orioles prospect Kevin Gausman was when he learned that Hostess was shutting down shop last fall? O’s outfielder Adam Jones was paying very close attention. Just to rehash your memory. . .Gausman eats one powdered mini donut before he takes the mound, then four between each inning he pitches. Realistically, Gausman could eat 33 of these messy treats in a 9-inning game. Theoretically, he would need to consume somewhere around 1200 donuts in a year over the course of 36 starts. Jones has him covered, as he tweeted out a photo of the prank/gift he set up at Gausman’s Spring Training locker. That’s a lot of friggin donuts. Jones has apparently Indian-gifted some of the treats. And Gausman should not let his guard down. A hot foot is still on the docket.

Baltimore Orioles outfielder Adam Jones gave rookie teammate Kevin Gausman a tasty spring training treat Sunday morning. Here is the scoop.Gausman, a top pitching prospect for the O's, apparently loves powdered doughnuts. In fact, one of his rituals includes eating four of the sugary gems in between each inning he pitches. So, in an effort to feed (no pun intended) Gausman'...
Baltimore Orioles pitcher Kevin Gausman, the fourth overall pick in the 2012 draft, has a bizarre ritual during games - he eats powdered donuts. Specifically, Gausman eats one donut before taking the mound, and four between each inning. Gausman's preferred brand of powdered donut was Hostess, and he was distraught when the company shut down last year.
But when he arrived...
There are few things Orioles fans know of first round pick, top-prospect Kevin Gausman. Most know he’s good. Some know of his pre-game ritual of pounding down powdered donuts.
I think it’s safe to say that center fielder Adam Jones knows both:

And why doesn’t Jim Thome’s Hinsdale, Illinois house have deer mounts in every room? The guy is trying to sell this massive house for $3,500,000 and doesn’t have a single dead animal in the house. All mystique associated with Jim Bunyan has been ruined. And what’s up with all the tulips?
We figured Thome had goats keeping his yard trimmed.
According to his Realtor:
Orioles prospect Kevin Gausman has an unusual donut-eating routine during his starts and star teammate Adam Jones made sure he has a long-term supply.
Baltimore Orioles reliever Darren O'Day made history this morning. And the right-hander did so without even appearing in a game.O'Day agreed to a two-year, $5.8 million deal with Baltimore on Monday to become the 133rd and final arbitration-eligible player to settle without going to a hearing. This is the first year such an occurrence has happened since the arbitration process...
There will be no arbitration hearings this year marking the first time in the 39 year history that no cases will be brought before an arbitrator.
Darren O’Day was the final player, of 133, to agree to a contract with his team. O’Day and the Orioles finalized a two-year contract with the Baltimore Orioles worth $5.8 million.
Previously the record low for hearings was three set...
The Baltimore Orioles bucked their trend in 2012, shooting up the AL East ladder and making a rare playoff appearance. Their 93-69 record was not only surprising but it broke a streak of consecutive last place finishes dating back to 2008. In fact, they hadn’t put together so much as a winning season since 1997.
So to say that they shocked the baseball world is certainly fair....
By signing to a two-year, $5.8 million deal with the Baltimore Orioles on Monday, reliever Darren O’Day helped set an MLB record by having zero arbitration hearings. O’Day was the 133rd and final player to settle without a hearing, the Associated Press reports.
Arbitration began in 1974, and 2013 was the first year that there were no hearings, breaking the record of the three...
I know there are many of you, probably more than 50 percent of you, that don’t like the Orioles, and that’s fine. But here are Kevin Gausman and Chris Davis playing cornhole in the clubhouse, as Manny Machado looks on, and I dare you to not like that.

Tweet With spring training underway interesting (and usually lighthearted) stories from various team camps have begun to surface, like this assistant trainer of the Cleveland Indians who lost a bet and something else in the process. Then there was Baltimore Orioles center fielder Adam Jones having some fun with Kevin Gausman over one of [...]
