Jamie Moyer has requested and received his release, the Orioles announced. Moyer was pitching at Triple-A Norfolk where he posted a 1.69 era in three starts. Moyer though is not ready to hang it up just yet as he looks to find a job with another club.
The Orioles had signed Moyer in early June, after he was released by the Rockies. The 49-year old, had signed a Minor League deal with the Rockies back in January and in April 18, 2012, he became, at 49 years and 170 days, the oldest pitcher to win a Major League game.
With the Rockies, Moyer went 2-5 with a 5.70 ERA, 1.8 HR/9, 3.0 BB/9 and 6.0 SO/9 in 53.2 innings.
