The Baltimore Orioles officially cut bait with righthander Justin Duchscherer on Tuesday.
Facing another hip surgery, Duchscherer was released by the American League East team. He did not make a start for the Orioles this season after signing a one-year, $700,000 contract in the offseason.
The 33-year-old South Dakota native made only five starts with the Oakland Athletics in 2010 before undergoing season-ending surgery.
Duchscherer missed the entire 2009 season with shoulder and back injuries.
