Found December 07, 2011 on Fenway West:
PLAYERS: David Ortiz
TEAMS: Boston Red Sox
Papi
ESPN Boston has said that sources aka rumors have said that David Ortiz is going to accept arbitration today.  It would mean that Papi would definitely be back in a Red Sox uniform for one more year.  The Sox and Ortiz could also continue to negotiate a 2 year deal after he accepts arbitration.  As reported yesterday, the Sox offered Papi a 2 yr/18 mil deal and that Papi would prefer a 2 yr/25 mil deal.  There might be something in the middle that both sides could agree to. I am refusing to get excited about this until it goes from a source to a confirmed announcement that Papi is coming back...but well, I am very happy to hear this.  I have always said that David Ortiz should be a priority this off season.  If it is true and he will be back in 2012, I'm a happy happy camper.
