Ozzie Guillen had already put himself at-risk to be fired after his comments about Fidel Castro, and his team’s disappointing season has done little to help his job status. Now we’re learning that Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria is unhappy with Guillen and leaning towards firing the manager. The Palm Beach Post’s Joe Capozzi reports that Loria is upset with Guillen for calling him out regarding the Marlins’ inability to establish stability at manager. “If Jeffrey doesn’t think I’m doing the job I should do … it’s not the first time he’s fired a manager,” Guillen said on Friday, per Capozzi. “Look yourself in the mirror and ask why so many (bleeping) managers come through here.” Those comments apparently set off Loria. Guillen has also questioned the job status of many people tied to the organization in light of the team’s brutal 66-87 record. “When you are in last place you need a better manager, better general manager, better owner, a better everything when you are a last-place te

Miami Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria is reportedly angry at Ozzie Guillen over comments the manager made about him recently and may lead to his firing, the Palm Beach Post reported Monday. The newspaper reported that Loria did not appreciate being "called out" by Guillen on Friday. "If Jeffrey doesn't think I'm doing the job I should do ... it's not the...

Heath Bell: Ozzie Guillen is “hard to respect”

Been a long, rough season in Miami for the Marlins. Reliever Heath Bell was thought to be one of the better off-season pickups by the organization, especially since he was averaging about 45 saves over the previous 3 years. But Bell had a terrible start to the season, which led to him losing job. He [...]

Braves' Guillen not worried if he's on hotseat

The Marlins went into Friday 18 games under .500 but manager Ozzie Guillen didn't sound like a man worried about losing his job. "Can I say something about those (rumors)? Ha, ha, ha," Guillen said. "I laugh at that (expletive). I don't worry about what people say about that. I don't." Guillen said owner Jeffrey Loria has not spoken to him about...

Guillen brushes off critical comments from Bell

Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen is brushing off criticism from reliever Heath Bell. Speaking on Tuesday about the team's latest ordeal, Guillen said Bell is entitled to his opinion. Heath Bell Hints That It's 'Hard to Respect' Ozzie Guillen, Calls First Season Under Manager 'Interesting'

It's probably safe to assume most Marlins fans aren't happy with Heath Bell or Ozzie Guillen. Apparently, things aren't so rosy between the two, either. Guillen, of course, has been and likely always will be a rather opinionated manager, and Bell isn't too thrilled with how the Miami skipper has been operating during a disappointing season for the Fish. "It&...

MLB Rumors: Miami Marlins Firing Ozzie Guillen Would Only Further Illustrate Front Office Baseball Ignorance

The Miami Marlins may have spent a lot of money this past offseason. They built a brand new [albeit ugly] ballpark that none of the players enjoy. They hired a new manager with World Series credentials to turn around a losing atmosphere. They signed a bunch of elite players to come in and help make the Marlins a contender. They even changed their logo and uniform entirely...

Marlins' Bell criticizes Guillen in radio interview

With Things Deteriorating Quickly In Miami, Is A Reyes Reunion Possible?

Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria was reportedly outraged with Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez’s comments in which he told the Miami Herald the following: “There’s not a manager dead or alive that Jeffrey thinks is good enough. MLB Rumors: Miami Marlins Becoming The Boston Red Sox Of The National League?

We all know of the dysfunction that is the current Boston Red Sox. They suffered one of the biggest collapses in professional sports history last season, fired a good manager, hired a bad manager, traded away half the team and still go on the record publicly about how unhappy everyone in the organization is with each other. Oh, and they might be sold shortly as well...

The Mets hadn't scored more than three runs in a home game since August 12th. They hadn't scored more than one run in an inning at home in a span of what seemed like a millennium. The Mets had only won 4 games at home since the All-Star break. Then the Marlins came to town and basically obliterated all of those streaks as the Mets completed their sweep of Miami with a 3-2...
