Episode 12 of The Pirates Prospects Podcast can be downloaded or streamed below. This episode includes minor league analysis from James Santelli (@JamesSantelli), Tom Bragg (@TomBraggSports), John Dreker (@JohnDreker) and myself (@timwilliamsP2) on the prospects in the Pirates’ system. Highlights of the show include: **James Santelli covered the Altoona Curve last week, and wrote about Jameson Taillon in this article. James talks about what he saw from Taillon, including Taillon’s focus on first pitch strikes and the development of his changeup. **James liked what he saw from Alex Dickerson and Gregory Polanco. He didn’t like what he saw from Quinton Miller, who was the first of the over-slot prep pitchers the Pirates signed. **Tom Bragg and John Dreker both covered West Virginia in the last week. John wrote a great recap of West Virginia on Monday, highlighting Luis Heredia and Barrett Barnes. **Tom, John and I discuss Heredia’s first two starts, along with Tyler Glasnow’s recent outings, and a few other players on the roster like Walker Gourley and Raul Fortunato. **While discussing Gourley and Fortunato we get into the discussion on the value of organizational players and how they help your prospects. **This week I interviewed Reese McGuire, who was the second pick by the Pirates in the 2013 draft and the 14th overall pick in the draft this year. **The song is ‘Let’s Get it Started’ by Oh No Not Stereo. Game 83: Pirates 6 Phillies 5

This game turned on a quick sequence in that went like this: Andrew McCutchen single, Gaby Sanchez single on the next pitch, Russell Martin RBI single two pitches later, Pedro Alvarez three-run homer two pitches after that. That turned a frustrating 1-0 Phillies lead into a 4-1 PIrate lead. That gave the second half of the game a very different tone.  Specifically, it was the...
