MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Joe Mauer had a home run among his four hits and drove in three runs for the Minnesota Twins in an 8-2 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on a cold, windy Monday night that helped send several fly balls to the deepest parts of Target Field. Kevin Correia (1-1) earned his first American League win after finishing seven innings for the third time in as many starts with the Twins, getting two double-play grounders to help him limit the Angels to solo home runs by Peter Bourjos and former Twins utility infielder Brendan Harris. Angels starter Joe Blanton (0-3) was battered again for nine hits, one walk and four runs in 4 2-3 innings. Mauer doubled and scored in the first and led off the fifth inning with a homer to left-center. Trevor Plouffe also went deep off Blanton, and Justin Morneau drove in a run with a double.

Twins' Mauer enjoys another four-hit outing

MINNEAPOLIS Simply put, Joe Mauer is in the zone. The Twins catcher is in the type of zone where you expect him to get a hit every time he comes to the plate and when he doesn't, you're surprised. It's not a new phenomenon for Mauer to go through a hot streak like this, but it's certainly an encouraging start to the season for the three-time batting champion, who...

Angels Fans: This is NOT Your College Tequila

By David Saltzer, AngelsWin.com Senior Writer I will be honest: Like many, I gave up drinking tequila in college. That was 20+ years ago, before the whole mixology movement had begun, and the tequila I got wasn't always the highest of qualities. But that will be changing. Last week, AngelsWin.com was invited to attend an event hosted by Familia Camarena...

The Los Angeles Angels of TOOTBLANaheim

TOOTBLAN [tt'bln] - (noun or verb) The act of an MLB baserunner committing a mental error that results in him being Thrown Out On The Basepaths Like A Nincompoop. It has long been a hallmark of Mike Scioscia's tenure at the helm of the Angels that the offense would manufacture extra runs via a constant assault on the defense by way of aggressive running of the bases....
