The San Diego Padres on Sunday activated second baseman Orlando Hudson from the 15-day disabled list.
Hudson had missed 22 games with a groin strain. He was signed by the Padres in the offseason to a two-year, $11.5 million deal but is batting just .217 with seven RBI.
To make room for Hudson on the roster, the Padres returned second baseman to Triple-A Tucson. Forsythe had just eight hits and two RBI in 48 at-bats for San Diego.
