Granted, with the classic comedy being released way back in 2004, it could be argued that nods to “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgandy”have long passed their timely pop culture reference expiration date. But that does not mean the folks at MLB Fan Cave didn’t believe some humor could be mined out of having Brad Brach, Luke Gregerson, Dale Thayer, Anthony Bass and Joe Thatcher, members of the San Diego Padres bullpen, do their best Ron Burgandy impressions. Because “Anchorman” took place in San Diego, you see. Surprised you didn’t know that. So, sit back, watch the pitchers do some “How Now Brown Cows” and “Unique New Yorks” as they pepper the relatively timeless Burgandyisms with some Padres-related references. Via MLB Fan Cave: There you have it. Watching that probably makes most of you long for Dec. 20, 2013 when “Anchorman: The Legend Continues” is slated to be released. That way, members of the 2022 Padres bullpen can bust out their favorite one-liners from the film for the MLB Fan Cave. Only difference will be the MLB Fan Cave in 2022 will be located in a crater on the moon. You stay classy, Planet Earth.
