Friday should have been remembered as a great night for the San Diego Padres.

Third baseman Chase Headley homered from both sides of the plate as the Padres rallied from their biggest deficit of the season to defeat Pittsburgh 9-8 for their 10th straight win at PNC Park in Pittsburgh.

But closer Huston Street pulled up lame on the game's final play as his 21st straight save conversion went into the books and his earned run average fell to 0.75.

Street suffered a left calf strain on the play and will likely go on the disabled list.

"This could put him out awhile," Padres manager Bud Black said of Street's strain.

Said Street: "You hope you wake up in the morning and it's better, better than good. All I'm thinking right now is a way to get it healed."

Street, who had to be helped off the field, was on an amazing run. The out on the last play of the game extended his scoreless-inning streak to 21 1/3. The last time he gave up a run was June 17 in Oakland.

Since then rival batters have gone 3-for-66 (.045) against Street, who also walked three batters during the run for a .087 on-base percentage. He had 27 strikeouts over the 21 1/3 innings.

Street is 21-for-21 in save opportunities this season. He had 13 saves during the 21 1/3-scoreless inning streak.
