The Toronto Blue Jays have hired Pat Hentgen as their bullpen coach, bringing the Cy Young winner back into the team's coaching ranks. Hentgen previously served as Toronto's bullpen coach in 2011. He spent eight of the last nine seasons as a team ambassador and special assistant to the organization. Hentgen played 10 of his 14 big-league seasons in Toronto. In 1996, he went 20-10 with a 3.22 ERA to become the first Blue Jay to win the Cy Young Award. The 44-year-old Detroit native made 183 consecutive starts for Toronto between 1993 and 1998. The staff for new manager John Gibbons is now complete. Hentgen joins a staff that includes bench coach DeMarlo Hale, pitching coach Pete Walker, hitting coach Chad Mottola, first base coach Dwayne Murphy and third base coach Luis Rivera.

I’ve already covered Marcus Stroman and Matt Smoral, the top two pitchers the Jays drafted in 2012, but they also selected hurlers in the...

My research led me somewhere, but it didn’t lead me where I wanted — it led me to Willy Taveras, and I couldn’t think of any reason...

The Toronto Blue Jays have signed pitchers Claudio Vargas, Richard Thompson and Juan Perez and infielders Eugenio Velez and Luis Jimenez to minor-league contracts with invitations to spring training. 2012 Positional Rankings: RH Starters

Nearing the end of the ranking process, I'm looking forward to being able to post my Top prospect master list the week of Christmas. Aaron Sanchez (7/1/92) - Sanchez is no secret to anyone, electric stuff and a need...
