The Arizona Diamondbacks had their rookie pitcher Patrick Corbin starting a game on Friday against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Corbin had the task of attempting to keep up with Dodgers left-handed pitching ace Clayton Kershaw. This was not going to be any easy task for Corbin as Kershaw coming into this start had yet to allow an earned run this season. Kershaw in his starts this season has looked unbeatable. Once the game got under way Kershaw was throwing like he going to have no problem with the Diamondbacks line up  Arizona entering this game had struggled against left-handed pitchers this season, as indicated by their .193 batting average. Corbin did a great job in this game by keeping the Dodgers hitters off-balance, and managed to battle through some tough innings. The Dodgers were trying to force Corbin to throw plenty of pitches in the early innings, and they hoped this would cause him to make mistakes as the game went on.
