  PAWTUCKET, R.I.—According to a report from Joe McDonald of ESPNBoston.com, the Pawtucket Red Sox have activated pitcher Brayan Villarreal from the disabled list Wednesday and placed pitcher Charlie Haeger on the temporary inactive list. The 26-year-old Villarreal was acquired from the Detroit Tigers in the three-team deal that sent infielder Jose Iglesias to the Tigers and pitcher Jake Peavy to Boston from the Chicago White Sox back on July 30. At that time, Villarreal was on the disabled list as a member of the Triple-A Toledo Mudhens, suffering from a right thumb injury. He was 2-2 with a save and a 3.15 ERA notching 41 strikeouts in 28 appearances for Toledo. At the big-league level, he appeared in seven games for the Tigers, and notched a 0-2 record, surrendering 10 runs in 4 1/3 innings. Overall in his Major League career, he is 4-8 with a 4.56 ERA in 73 games for the Tigers, striking out 86 in 75 innings of work. Haeger has posted a 3-3 record for the Pawsox this season, str...
