Chicago White Sox pitcher Jake Peavy has been added to the American League All-Star team as a replacement for Los Angeles Angels pitcher C.J. Wilson, who is out with a blister on the middle finger of his left hand. Wilson, 9-5 with a 2.43 ERA, pitched in last season's All-Star Game when he was with the Texas Rangers. Wilson signed a five-year, $77.5 million deal with the Angels last December. He has had trouble with broken fingernails and blisters all season. Peavy is 7-5 with a 2.85 ERA. He finished second to the Rangers' Yu Darvish for a spot in the All-Star Game in the fans' online Final Vote last week.

Told ya Jake Peavy gets all-star nod despite losing vote
Told ya all that All-Star campaigning crap was a waste of time. I told you that Chicago White Sox and their fans’ mindless jingoism and lemming behavior to vote Jake Peavy into the Midsummer classic was for naught- not because he finished second in the voting, but because I knew HE WOULD GET THERE ANYWAY. As an injury replacement.
And he did. This is the third All-Star nod for...

The Chicago White Sox Finish First Half With A Three Game Lead In A.L. Central Will It Hold?
The Chicago White Sox turned a lot of heads in the first half. The team people thought couldn’t contend has a three game lead in the A.L.
