This is pretty stunning.-The saga is over, now, I guess. Apparently, out of the blue last night, the Pirates decided to pay a little bit more money, make the contract a major-league deal instead of minor, and Alvarez/Boras suddenly agreed. Done deal just like that. Dejan has the [details].-This is great news. Nobody wanted to give in to Boras, but the difference is very small compared to the original deal. It was nice to see Neal playing hardball, but it would have meant nothing if Boras didn't give in, which he very well may not have.-This just adds up to Pedro being a Buc. Finally. That's huge. We can ignore all the legal ramifications for the moment--and there are a lot of them. Pedro Alvarez is a Pittsburgh Pirate, and this is REALLY the first time all year we can say that for sure.
