How early is too early to start talking about the World Series for the Red Sox? Most fans would probably say the ALCS. But Dustin Pedroia thinks that now is a good time.
Before Tuesday’s All-Star game, Pedroia stressed to ESPN how important an American League win would be to the Sox in the event that they make it to the World Series.

“Just look at our team,” Pedroia said. “If we’re in the World Series [and the American League loses Tuesday], we play another game in the National League park. We lose our best hitter. We lose David Ortiz for that day — or he has to play first base, which he hasn’t done all year. The game means a lot.”
Of course, the American League did get the win, meaning that the Sox wouldn’t have to worry about Papi if they go all the way.
