DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers didn't waste any time on exercising their options on two players.
Shortstop Jhonny Peralta and reliever Octavio Dotel will return for the 2013 season.
Peralta batted .239 with 13 home runs and 63 RBIs during the regular season. He hit .260 with a double, three home runs and five RBIs in 13 playoff games. He finished second among all American League shortstops, with a .988 fielding percentage during the season.
Dotel appeared in 57 regular-season games, posting a 5-3 record, 3.57 ERA and 62 strikeouts. He limited opponents to a .230 batting average. Dotel didn't not allow a run in five innings of work during the playoffs.
Additionally, the Tigers reinstated infielderoutfielder Ryan Raburn from the 15-day disabled list, and pitcher Daniel Schlereth and designated hitter Victor Martinez from the 60-day disabled list on Monday.
