Philip Humber got the start for the Chcago White Sox who were looking to avoid getting swept by the Tigers and trying to stop their losing streak. The White Sox have now lost their last five games. Humber didn’t stand a chance today of stopping the Tigers Offense. The White Sox watched as the Detroit Tigers came to the plate in the first inning and took control of the game. By the time the smoke cleared the White Sox would see the Tigers out in front by a score of 3-1.
Humber gave up a two run blast to Quintin Berry, then he gave up another home run to Miguel Cabrera, the Tigers jumped on top quickly in this game. Just as White Sox fans didn’t think things could get worse, Miguel Cabrera returned to the plate in the third inning and Humber watched as one of his pitches sailed over the wall in center field.
