Pro Sports Daily:
The Philadelphia Phillies agreed to a one-year deal with free-agent left-handed pitcher John Lannan, ESPN.com reported Saturday. Lannan is guaranteed $2.5 million and could earn up to another $2.5 million in incentives, according to CBSSports.com. Lannan, 28, became a free agent after the Washington Nationals decided not to tender him a contract offer. He spent much of the year in Class AAA Syracuse. In six starts with the Nationals, Lannan went 4-1 with a 4.13 ERA. He took Stephen Strasburg's spot in the rotation after the team shut him down late in the season. For his six-year career, Lannan is 42-52 with a 4.01 ERA. That includes a 3-13 record against the Phillies in 19 career starts. However, he is 39-39 with a 3.80 ERA against all other teams, including 17-15 with a 3.76 ERA against the rest of the NL East. Lannan likely will be the Phillies No. 5 starter, replacing recently-dealt Vance Worley.

I love the Phillies because it is common conversation in my family growing up. One more thing to build a stronger family around. They also provided me with a topic for soda tab chain mail that I made. Which can be seen if you goggle “3000 soda tab Phillies jersey“.
