Look almost anywhere sports-related online that the Atlanta Braves have acquired Cubs RHP Ryan Dempster in a trade. In fact, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reported that the deal is done:
Ryan Dempster, on the other hand. Says that there is no trade and he "does not know where it's coming from":
The Braves and the Cubs may have agreed what players they would send back and forth in a Ryan Dempster trade, but Dempster must approve the deal for it to go down. All players in the league for 10 years and with five or more years' service in one team have the right to reject a trade. Perhaps Dempster does not like Atlanta, or maybe he would like Atlanta to make accepting the trade worth his while in the form of some extra payment.
If Dempster does approve the deal, the Braves will be stabilizing their rotation that has been shaken due to injuries and poor performance. In 2012, Dempster is 5-4 but with a 2.11 ERA.
Should Dempster land with the Braves, I w...

David O'Brien started it all with a tweet saying that the Braves were close to finalizing a deal for a starting pitcher and then Jon Heyman, Jerry Crasnick and Jason Stark said it was Ryan Dempster.
Here's a top 20 Braves prospect list to start speculating upon. I'm hoping Cubs can get one of Randall Delgado or Mike Minor and another decent arm.
The Braves aren't waiting around for Cubs RHP Ryan Dempster
Atlanta Braves General Manager, Frank Wren, told a local sports talk radio station this morning that his team has “moved on” from the Ryan Dempster deal. In an interview on 680 The Fan in Atlanta, Wren said the parameters for the deal “expired yesterday”.

Chicago Cubs right-hander Ryan Dempster does not want to be traded to the Atlanta Braves, according to major-league sources.
At least not right now.
Dempster, as a player with 10 years of major-league service, the last five with the same team, has the right to block a trade to the Braves.
The pitcher instead wants to be sent to the Los Angeles Dodgers, who were unable to reach...
Not really sure what to think about the news at this point, but Dempster doesn't know about any trade.

According to Jon Heyman, the Braves and Ryan Dempster trade is 50/50.
The Ryan Dempster-Braves trade is now said to be "50-50,'' according to one person familiar with the talks.
The deal, as proposed, was going to send top Braves pitching prospect Randall Delgado to the Cubs.
"It could happen, or it could blow up,'' another person said.
In August 2003 Ryan Dempster underwent Tommy John surgery while a member of the Cincinnati Reds. The Reds released him in November that year and the Cubs signed him as a free agent on January 21st, 2004. The Cubs were a contender at this time and while Dempster would not be ready to start the season, he could provide some help in the bullpen late in the season. On August 1st Dempster...
The Atlanta Braves and Chicago Cubs are on the verge of a trade that would send starting pitcher, Ryan Dempster, to the Braves. Mark Bowman of MLB.com is stating on Twitter that Randall Delgado could be moved from Atlanta to Chicago in the deal, but that is yet to be determined. Confirmed Ryan Dempster is [...]

Apparently, this whole idea of the Cubs trading pitchers Ryan Dempster and/or Matt Garza isn't going to be as easy as some people might have thought. Both pitchers started this weekend in St. Louis, with mixed results. The more serious situation is with Garza, who left Saturday night's start after three innings with right-triceps cramping. X-rays proved negative, and Garza...
Reports on Monday said that Ryan Dempster was going to be traded to the Braves, but as Dempster wrote on his Twitter account, that was incorrect. The deal, which would have sent Dempster to Atlanta for Randall Delgado, is on hold because Dempster has the power to block it.
Dempster is a “10/5″ player, which means he’s been in the majors for 10 years and has spent the last...
The Braves appear to have agreed in principle on a deal that would bring MLB ERA leader Ryan Dempster to Atlanta for a playoff run. In exchange, the Braves would likely send Randall Delgado to the Cubs.
Dempster, 35, is a free agent after the season and will likely hope for one last 3-year deal at the season’s conclusion. He recently had a streak of over 30 consecutive scoreless...
The Atlanta Braves may be in search of an offensive spark, but they appear to be close to landing an impact piece for their rotation.
With a potential trade for Ryan Dempster seemingly in the works, Tim Hudson looks to continue his dominance of the Miami Marlins and help the Braves snap a three-game skid Tuesday night.
Atlanta (52-44) has totaled four runs and batted .181 during...

Typically the week leading up to the July 31st trade deadline sees the most trades. Usually you see a few deals spread out during the week, with the majority of trades taking place the final two days. That hasn’t been the case today. We saw our first big trades made during the 2012 season, with the Chicago Cubs trading Ryan Dempster, the Miami Marlins trading Anibal Sanchez and...
Here's a running list of trade rumors around the Major Leagues:
– According to Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports, it is “very unlikely” the Dodgers acquire right hander Ryan Dempster. They would rather not trade top prospects for a rental like Dempster. Jon Heyman of CBSSports adds that the frontrunners in the Dempster's sweepstakes are the Braves, Nationals and Cardinals...
