Phillies Prospect Could Rise High in 2024
Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Phillies have a prospect who could take a big jump during the 2024 season, if MLB Pipeline is correct.

Recently, the site provided predictions in several categories, including which Top 100 prospect would experience the biggest rise in his ranking next season.

Jonathan Mayo, one of the experts, determined that Phillies prospect Aidan Miller would make the biggest jump.

Miller is the Phillies’ No. 4 prospect right now, but the No. 90 overall. Mayo believes that the No. 27 pick in 2023 Draft out of high school was a “steal,” and he explains why:

He had a broken hamate, so he missed most of his senior year. I think he may have been a Top 10 pick, certainly a top-half-of-the-first-round pick. He can really hit. He can play third base. He had a strong debut after a lot of time off. He made it to full-season ball after just completely raking in the Florida Complex League.

Miller only played 20 games of pro baseball, so he hasn’t played a lot of games. But he slashed a combined .303/.425/.379/.804 with three doubles and two RBI. But his .216 batting average at Class A Clearwater showed that the move to full-season ball was a jump.

But, with a full offseason in the Phillies’ organization and a full Spring Training in Clearwater, Mayo believes it’s possible that Miller could work his way from Clearwater to High-A Jersey Shore in 2024.

The Phillies invested $3.1 million in above slot money after Miller played for the U.S. National Team as an Under-15 player and an Under-18 player. As a U-18 player, he batted .478 with two home runs, three triples, seven walks and eight RBI as Team USA won the gold medal in the 2022 Baseball World Cup.
