PERFECTION! We all know the Seattle Mariners are starved for offense, well today the Chicago White Sox Philip Humber made them pay. He pitched a perfect game against the Mariners IN Seattle. The game's pitching matchup featured, Humber (0-0, 1.69 ERA) vs. Mariners RH Blake Beavan (1-1, 2.70 ERA). Humber a 29 year old out of Nacogdoches, Texas first drafted by the Mets will always remember this day in Seattle. Safe to say Humber likes pitching against the M's. Coming into this game no Mariners player had hit more than one hit against Humber, and Ichiro Suzuki was 0-for-6 against him. Humber went 1-0 in two starts against Seattle last season, allowing three runs in 14 2/3 innings. Today he was on fire. Through 8 innings he'd pitched 80 total pitches and had thrown 57 strikes. 24 up and 24 down. Michael Saunders, Miguel Olivo, and Brendan Ryan all went down in the ninth and made it 27 of 27.
