CINCINNATI (AP) -- Brandon Phillps drove in the go-ahead run for the second straight day, Joey Votto homered and collected three hits, and the Cincinnati Reds beat the Miami Marlins 10-6 Sunday for their sixth win in seven games. Todd Frazier hit a three-run double in an eight-run seventh inning for the Reds, who took three of four from the Marlins and improved to a major league-best 10-3 at home. After trading most of their best players in an offseason payroll purge, the Marlins have the worst record in the big leagues at 4-15 -- the poorest record after 19 games in team history. With the score 2-2, Shin-Soo Choo drew Cincinnati's fifth walk off Alex Sanabia (2-2), who also hit Chin with a pair of pitches. Singles by Xavier Paul and Votto loaded the bases, and Phillips had an RBI single against Jon Rauch. Phillips had a game-ending sacrifice fly in the 13th inning Saturday.

Reds Win in 13

The Reds and Marlins played a 13-inning contest yesterday with the Reds coming out the winning 3-2. Joey Votto plated both of their runs in regulation but the Marlins refused to let him deliver the game-winner and intentionally walked him before Shin-Sin Choo scored on Brandon Phillips’s sac fly. Zach Cozart entered the game with a hot bat but left with a hand injury after going 0-6.

Anatomy of Brandon Phillips, RBI Machine

As Jeff Sullivan just pointed out, Shin-Soo Choo leads the majors in on base percentage, thanks to his willingness to endure pain for his team’s gain. #2 in the majors in OBP is teammate Joey Votto, Cincinnati’s star first baseman. The Reds acquired Choo to boost the top of their batting order, and in the first three weeks of the season, he has teamed with Votto to create havoc...
