Final Phillies 7, Twins 11 WP: Nick Blackburn (3-4, 7.68 ERA) LP: Kyle Kendrick (2-6, 5.08 ERA) A game that had many ups and downs, for both teams, ultimately fell in favor of the Minnesota Twins of the American League Central division.   Kyle Kendrick lasted just four innings, giving up six runs over eight hits.  While the Phillies scored seven runs over 14 total hits, their offense production simply was not enough to secure the victory. After trailing 5-0 going into the fourth inning, the Phillies trimmed their deficit significantly. Getting four hits and one walk to lead off the inning from Jim Thome, they brought home four runs.  Michael Martinez picked up his first run batted in of the season with a two-out single to right field. The Phillies had rallied again in the 6th.  Trailing 8-4, an RBI bases-loaded ground out by John Mayberry and a two-RBI single from former Twin Jim Thome brought the Phillies to within one run of tying the game.   Unfortunately, the bullpen was not able to throw effectively tonight.  They gave up five of the 11 total runs scored by the Minnesota Twins.  The Phillies have now dropped three straight games.  Lefty ace Cole Hamels takes the mound tomorrow afternoon, as he will look to improve to a (9-3) record on the season.
