Last night, the Pittsburgh Pirates officially cut ties with left-handed pitcher Scott Olsen. The Bucs signed Olsen in the offseason to compete for the fourth and fifth spots in their starting rotation, but the 27-year-old was injured in Spring Training and still hasn’t fully recoverd. The team will be on the hook for Olsen’s $450,000 salary unless another team signs him to a major league deal this year.
