Rudy Owens pitched in two games allowed six hits, three earned runs and two walks over four innings.

Bucs Insider tweeted this morning that the Pittsburgh Pirates have made some moves with some of their talented young pitchers within the organization.

Kyle McPherson has been optioned to Bradenton.  Bryan Morris has been optioned to Indianapolis which is some great news as some thought Morris could begin at Altoona.   Morris threw three innings allowed four hits, two earned runs and struckout one.  Rudy Owens and Justin Wilson were reassigned to minor league camp.

Wilson made two appearances in Spring Training going 1.2 innnings and allowed one hit, walked four, gave up three earned runs and struckout three.

Jeff Locke is scheduled to pitch today.  His assignment will be interesting.  Locke has impressed in camp and though most believe he will start in Altoona,  it wouldn’t shock us in the least to see him sent to AAA.

McPherson pitched two scoreless innings allowed a hit and struckout two during his 2011 Pirates Spring Training.
