Pedro...Pedro....Pedro...

A trip to Las Vegas must include spending some at the Sports Book.  As you’re aware being a Pittsburgh Pirates fan looking at the long odds the Pirates face this season can be a humbling experience.  But one bet stood apart from the others for us.

Pedro Alvarez is a 100/1 shot to win the Major League Baseball homerun crown.  The favorite is Albert Pujols at 7/1.  Miguel Cabrera, Prince Fielder, and Ryan Howard are 8/1.  Adam Dunn is 12/1.   Jose Bautista, Mark Teixeira, and Adrian Gonzalez are at 15/1.

There are many other sluggers between 20 and 75 to one.

Pedro Alvarez displayed serious power in 95 games in 2010.

We thought it sounded like a good bet.
