The Pirates made two very minor transactions that probably don't warrant a post. But I'm bored, so here we go. First off, left handed reliever Dan Meyer was signed to a minor league deal and will report to AAA-Indianapolis. He has pitched in the majors for parts of 5 seasons with Oakland and Florida. Over 113.2 innings, he's posted an ERA of 5.46 and has 92 K to go with 57 BB. He was a first round pick by the Braves in 2002 and was a key part of the Tim Hudson trade back in 2004. I wouldn't expect to see him in Pittsburgh unless he is seriously impressive or there are some injuries in the Pittsburgh bullpen. Also, I'm not sure if most people even realized that Craig Hansen was still with the organization, but he officially has been released after never being able to fully recover from a nerve injury that has forced him into throwing just 40 innings split between Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Altoona, and Bradenton since acquiring the former 2005 1st round pick ...
