Russell Martin's RBI single down the left-field line scored Josh Harrison in the 10th inning and gave the Pirates a 5-4 walk-off victory against the Marlins this afternoon at PNC Park.
It was the ninth walk-off win of the season for the Pirates and their second in the past three games. Harrison scored the game-winning run both times.
He led off the inning off Miami reliever Steve Ames with a grounder through the middle of the infield and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt. Three batters later Martin has his third walk-off hit of the year. He also reached on an error to secure a walk-off win earlier this year.
Jared Hughes who pitched a perfect 10th inning earned the win his second of the season.
With the victory the Pirates (70-44) have now won five consecutive games their second longest winning streak of the season. The Marlins (43-70) have lost five games in a row.
