Pittsburgh Pirates Accomplish More Random Baseball Feats on Monday
USA TODAY Sports

In their previous series against the Los Angeles Angels, the Pittsburgh Pirates accomplished multiple instances of random baseball history.

You can read about them here and here.

But if that wasn't random enough, the Pirates accomplished even more random history in Monday's 8-4 win over the San Diego Padres

Per @OptaSTATS on Twitter:

The @Pirates  are the only MLB team in the modern era to have 3 different players under the age of 25 notch their first career homer (Liover Peguero), first career win (Quinn Priester) and first career catcher caught stealing (Endy Rodríguez) in the same game.

Peguero is 22 years old and has just 21 career at-bats. The shortstop now has the home run and four RBI. He made his major league debut in 2022 but played in just one game. He's now played in five with this year's Pirates.

The 22-year-old Priester went 5.1 innings in his first victory, surrendering four earned runs on four hits. He walked three and struck out four. He is the Pirates fourth-ranked prospect overall and was a first-round pick back in the 2019 draft.

Rodriguez is one of the more hyped Pirates prospects as well, ranking at No. 3 in the Pirates top 30. He went 1-for-3 at the plate and is hitting .200 since being called up earlier this month.

After the win, the Pirates are now 44-56 through 100 games. They remain in last place in the National League Central.

The Padres are now 48-53 and are in fourth place in the National League West.

The two teams will play again on Tuesday at 9:40 p.m. ET.
