The Atlanta Braves were the leagues hottest team entering this weekend series with the Pittsburgh Pirates, but the Bucs had different plans for the Braves.  After Atlanta won the first game of the 4 game series, the Pirates pitching staff stepped up and held this powerful Braves lineup to just 3 runs in the final 3 games.  Wandy Rodriguez pitched 7 shutout innings and the bullpen backed him up as the Pirates scored 6 runs off Tim Hudson in 4 innings.  James McDonald followed suit with 6 innings of 1 run ball beating Paul Maholm and 6 pitchers scattered 8 hits and 2 runs to beat Kris Medlen.  Jason Grilli picked up his 6th and 7th saves of the season.Travis Snider started 3 of the 4 games and picked up 2 hits in each start, including 4 doubles.  He also walked in each game which led to 3 runs scored.B.J. Upton struck out 8 times, twice in each game.  The Braves struck out 46 times as a team. The New York Mets took 2 of 3 from the Washington Nationals in Queens, and it featured a pitching matchup baseball fans should get used to!  Matt Harvey outdueled Stephen Strasburg as the Mets won 7-1.  The Mets managed 4 runs off Strasburg and Harvey improved to 4-0 with 7 strikeouts over 7 innings of 4 hit ball.  His performanced sparked this "Harvey's Better" chant!  Ike Davis and Lucas Duda each hit 2 home runs, in consecutive ABs.The next night, the Nats bats teed off on the back of the Mets rotation scoring 6 runs in 5 innings.  Bryce Haper homered twice and Danny Espinosa and Adam LaRoche added long balls as well. The Mets won the series, and beat Jordan Zimmermann 2-0 as Dillon Gee and the Mets bullpen pitched a rare shutout.  Bobby Parnell picked up save #2.  John Buck added his 7th home run of the season. The Philadelphia Phillies and St. Louis Cardinals split a 4 game series as both teams continue to play below their potential.  Adam Wainwright and Lance Lynn picked up wins #3 while Roy Halladay pitched a complete game 2 hitter (both were home runs).  The game lasted just 7 innings due to rain.  Doc seems to have diagnosed himself and prescribed the right medicine, everything is back to normal!  For two lineups with this many fantasy players, the bats were rather quiet. The Miami Marlins lost 3 of 4 to the Cincinnati Reds this weekend, but they can say that they beat Aroldis Chapman!  In their only win, the Marlins scored a run in the 9th off Chapman, who got the L.  Justin Ruggiano(2 hr) hit a home run of the flame throwing lefty.  Steve Cishek picked up his 1st save of the season.Joey Votto picked up 4 hits in the first game including his 6th double and 2nd home run of the season.  He added 3 more hits in the finale adding another homer.Shin-Soo Choo added 6 hits (2 2b, 1 3B) and 4 base on balls which led to 4 runs scored.Todd Frazier picked up 5 RBI and 4 runs and hit a very special HR.Jhoulys Chacin improved to 3-0 and lowered his ERA to 1.46 as the Colorado Rockies took 2 of 3 from the Arizona Diamondbacks.  Rafael Betancourt picked up saves # 6 and 7.  Troy Tulowitzki hit homeruns # 5 and 6 and raised his RBI total to 17.Didi Gregorius has made 3 starts for the DBacks now and has 2 hits in each and smacked 2 homers.  At 6'1 185lbs don't expect the power numbers, but if he is hitting in this Arizona lineup, he is worth adding to your fantasy team, especially in NL only leagues. The San Francisco Giants swept the San Diego Padres and Barry Zito and Tim Lincecum threw back to back shutouts.  Sergio Romo picked up his 8th save of the season.  The two teams combined to score 12 runs in 3 games. The Milwaukee Brewers swept the Chicago Cubs and Jim Henderson picked up saves 3 and 4 on the year.  John Axford was used twice in the 7th inning.Ryan Braun had 2, 3 RBI games and raised his season total to 16.  Anthony Rizzo hit his 6th homerun.
