SF Lunatic Fringe:
Okay, maybe this isn’t as far as a team could sink… Sure, the Giants aren’t in contention for the number 1 overall pick in the draft next year.
They’re only 3 games back in what I will gently call a competitive division.
They are mostly the same team that won a World Series last year, albeit with a couple of injury problems. More, it’s a lot of players playing under the level they can.
But somebody needs to figure out how to light them up.
Because the combination of being no-hit, falling behind the Dodgers, and falling into last place all on the same day is pretty damn depressing.
Also, good job to Homer Bailey. Hell of a game.
And, clearly, Gregor Blanco is the judge of whether Perfect Games live or die, and he rules in the top of the seventh with nobody out.

Reds fans who attended Tuesday's no-hitter by Homer Bailey may not have scored free pizza from LaRosa's Pizzeria because the team failed to record at least 11 strikeouts. However, nationwide pizza chain Dominos is giving away some free dough, though.
As most are already aware, the Reds and LaRosa's have a season-long promotion that guarantees every fan with a ticket...

Homer Bailey had one idea for the number he wanted to wear on the back of his baseball jersey. Rick Stowe had a different idea.
Stowe won out.
Texas boy. Nolan Ryan. Thats why I gave it to him, said Stowe, the Reds clubhouse manager, late Tuesday night in explaining how Bailey came about to wear the No. 34.
Ryan, the Texas and baseball icon, owns the Major League record with...
Homer Bailey has thrown his second no-hitter in 10 months and the first in the majors this season, pitching the Cincinnati Reds to a 3-0 victory over the slumping San Francisco Giants on Tuesday night.

Put this one in the books.
Reds pitcher Homer Bailey threw his 2nd career no hitter on Tuesday against the San Francisco Giants.

Congrats to him and the Reds for accomplishing a feat that many of the game’s very greatest have never even been able to accomplish...
What’s better than your first career no-hitter? A second one! Yes, that is what the fans of Great American Ball Park just witnessed as Homer Bailey pitched his second career no-hit baseball in less than a year. He is also the last pitcher to accomplished that feat just last year on September 28, 2012 against the Pittsburgh Pirates, when struck out ten on 115...

Last night, Cincinnati Reds pitcher Homer Bailey completed the second no-hitter of his career and the 280th of Major League Baseball, and like many before him, he needed help from the guys playing behind him. While Bailey deserves credit for dealing last night, striking out 9, and allowing just walk, it was first baseman Joey Votto who saved the day with a terrific heads up play...
I'm pretty sure that Homer Bailey of the Reds is one of the most unlikely players in league history with two no hitters. But honestly, Bailey has turned himself into one of the better pitchers in baseball this season. His 2.9 fWAR leads a very good Reds staff. His 111 innings pitched lead Cincinnati, and is good for 16th in baseball. His 2.67 xFIP is sixth among all qualified...
Tony Cingrani will certainly have a tough act to follow when he makes his return to the Cincinnati Reds rotation.
After Homer Bailey threw his second career no-hitter and the majors' first this season, Cingrani will try to be the next to stymie the scuffling San Francisco Giants on Wednesday night.
Bailey has now thrown the past two no-hitters in baseball with a 3-0 win Tuesday...
