World Series Dreaming:
We are recording a podcast later on tonight, if you have any questions please comment, leave one on the Facebook, or email me here.
Here are the topics we are looking to touch on:
New look Cubs? – The recent ideas the Cubs are coming up with lend credence to the idea that the Cubs are doing a massive image overhaul. We’re focusing on the mascot/committed stuff specifically but we’ll be talking about it all.
On the field issues – Ian Stewart might be back soon, and Dillon Maples hurt himself again. We’ll talk about what we think the Cubs have planned for the coming year a bit.
RBI Baseball - Not the game, but the inner city program. We’ll talk about getting involved with inner city little league programs.
Beard Madness updates - How y’all gonna hate on dreadlocks and two perfect goatees like that?
How we blog - This should be a fun look into the WSD creative process (SPOILER: We’re dicks).

While it is nice to win spring training games, the Chicago Cubs are much more worried about evaluating players’ performances than wins and losses this spring. For this reason, the absence of Starlin Castro and Anthony Rizzo for most of the spring can be seen as a positive for the club, as they have been able to get better looks at some of the younger players. Some of these...
The Chicago Cubs must trade Alfonso Soriano before other teams realize just how far he has fallen since he became a Cub. – stupid stuff found on internet
I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that if random stupid guy on internet knows that Soriano isn't as good as he once was that other MLB teams know it too. After all, stupid guy on the internet is, you know, stupid...
Here are the Cubs Minor League Camp rosters as of today (3/12).
There has been some player movement in both directions (mainly downward) over the past couple of days.

The Cubs are undergoing rebuilding, including a farm system that has missed on some big prospects over the last few years. Can Theo and Jed make this system an elite one?
Note: Avg ranking takes the average of any site I could find that had team rankings (sum of ranks divided by total sites). Comp ranking is the composite for the organization; it basically is a ranking of the averages...
We just held our ticket draft last night and there is no way I'm going to use ALL of my allotted tickets this year, so I thought I'd give you fine people a shot at tickets for face value with no Ticketmaster fees.
My seats are now in Aisle 409 Row 5, and I think they actually are the best value in the park (if there is such a thing anymore) since it costs about 25% more to...
Off to Chicago to examine the local media outlets covering the CHICAGO CUBS. Newspaper- Chicago is a two newspaper town, with both the Sun Times and the Tribune (subscription may be required) serving the city. Both papers’ online sports pages provide comprehensive coverage of the Cubs. Both also have space dedicated to the team. Sun Times
Jeff Samardzija homered and allowed four runs over 4 2-3 innings Monday in the Chicago Cubs' 7-5 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks 7-5.
Samardzija, prepping for an opening-day start at Pittsburgh on April 1, gave up four hits and two walks and struck out two. He hit a solo homer to center in the fifth against Eury De la Rosa that pulled the Cubs to 3-2.
Mitch Mathews brings a rare blend of size and athleticism to BYU’s pass-catching corps, and because he creates a challenge for those covering him, the coaches are going to use him in various ways. Could BYU fans see their very own version of Notre Dame’s Jeff Samardzija beginning to emerge?
After two weeks out with a hamstring injury, Starlin Castro was happy to be back on the field.
Even if it was only for three innings.
Sidelined since Feb. 27, the All-Star got a single and walked Wednesday in the Chicago Cubs' 2-0 loss to the Colorado Rockies.
Castro, who hurt his left leg in a game against the Los Angeles Dodgers, walked against Jorge De La Rosa leading off...
Here's something interesting I discovered today: Starlin Castro has exactly 100 career walks.
Here's the breakdown:
29 in 2010
35 in 2011
36 in 2012
63 in Wrigley Field
6 in Great American (next highest)
55 times with the bases empty
12 times with just a man on first or just a man on second (next highest, tied)
0 times with the bases loaded
72 times when the Cubs were tied...
I've had a very sore neck, back and shoulders for the last couple of weeks so I haven't written much over that time. It's still not 100% and I'm beginning to feel as though it never will be. But I am good enough that I can spread my infinite wisdom to our readers. You're welcome.
Jeff Samardzija was named the opening day starter. A year ago it was a far fetched...
