No one hated being a Pirate more than Jason Kendall. Well, let me amend that statement. I don’t think Kendall had a problem with playing for the Pirates per se. However, he certainly had a big problem playing for perpetually putrid franchise, one that brought in little other talent or had any hope of ever making the postseason. And, well, during Kendall’s time in Pittsburgh, the Pirates just so happened to fit all of those charcteristics.
To be fair, Kendall wasn’t exactly a boon to the team either. He signed a massive six year/$60 million contract in 2000, but never regained his form after a sever injury ankle. Kendall quickly became one of the highest overpaid players in baseball, his deal...
