Found April 22, 2012 on Mets Fever:
The Mets and Giants will look to dodge rain drops this afternoon when they take the field at 1:10 pm in the third of their four game series against the San Francisco Giants.  Having split the first two games, the Mets will look to build upon the surprisingly strong eight inning outing of Mike Pelfrey yesterday, which ended in a Mets win, thanks in part to a ninth inning error by Buster Posey.

The Mets will send Dillon Gee (1-1, 2.92 ERA), who is coming off of a very strong outing of his own, to the mound today.  Gee threw seven strong innings, allowing only one run against the Atlanta Braves to earn his first victory of the season just six days ago.  Gee will be making his first career start against the Giants.

The Giants will counter with highly paid Tim Lincecum (0-2, 10.54 ERA) has struggled mightily to date this season.  With his most recent bad outing coming in a six inning loss to the Phillies, he will look to get back on track against the Mets, who he has a career record of 3-1 with a 2.87 ERA in seven starts.

I'm am PELFREY, MIKE

When the Mets are on the road Mike Pelfrey is forced to wear this large paper name tag. Once Mike was lost for 5 hours at the Baltimore aquarium. He was finally found obsessively cleaning a harbor seal pup he named Coco with his own tongue. This simple name tag system helps make sure the Mets don't lose Big Mike. However, the Mets have yet come up with a system that insures...

Max Patkin in for Defensive Reasons

Mets 5 - Giants 4 The Mets turned a great start by Mike Pelfrey in to an epic **** storm of defensive ineptitude that more resembled a greased monkey trying to **** a porcupine than professional baseball. Rest in peace Max Patkin, the Mets are taking over as the new bread of baseball ass clowns. Nevertheless, the Mets pulled out a walk off win. The Blob felt the ups and downs of the

After yesterday’s rain out, the Mets and Giants will double dip this afternoon as they will play two games starting at 4:10. In the first game Batista will get the nod against Lincecum while in the second game Bumgarner will start against Gee. Post Game: Mets 5 Giants 4

The Mets defeated the Giants by a score of 5-4 this afternoon. Mike Pelfrey went 8 strong innings only giving up a single run. Mike seemed to be in line for a win, but a misplayed pop up by Rueben Tejada and Kirk led to the Giants scoring three runs in the ninth inning, all charged to Frank Francisco. In the bottom of the ninth, the Mets won the gamerrors throwing error, as Tejada...

Post”poned” Game: Mets Washed Out vs. Giants

What was supposed to be a pitching matchup featuring Tim Lincecum of the Giants and Dillon Gee of the Mets won’t happen anytime today as the Mets-Giants game slated for 1:10 p.m. has been postponed for heavy rain in Queens this afternoon. The game will be made up as a single admission doubleheader tomorrow afternoon that will start at 1:10 p.m. as opposed to the originally scheduled...

Did Terry Collins Say What I Think He Said?

In Saturday’s 5-4 victory over the San Francisco Giants, the Mets blew a three-run lead in the ninth inning, costing Mike Pelfrey a chance to get his first win of the season.  Pelfrey pitched eight strong innings, allowing one run on six hits while throwing 102 pitches.  Despite stifling the Giants’ bats all day, manager Terry Collins decided to pull Pelfrey from the game and...

Mets Top Giants 5-4 And I Still Can’t Believe What I Just Saw!

Recap – Schmeecap… The Mets beat the Giants 5-4 this afternoon in what could only be described as a comedy of errors and I hereby do dub Terry Collins the Clown Prince. Mike Pelfrey was awesome and was still dealing after eight innings, but with the Mets up 4-1 Collins made the foolish decision to pull the right-hander in favor of the Mets new quasi-closer Frank Francisco. Big...

Pre Game: San Francisco Giants (7-7) vs New York Mets (8-6)

This afternoon (weather permitting) the Mets take on the Giants in game 3 of their 4 game set.  Mike Pelfrey threw a real nice game yesterday, but was a victim of Frank Francisco and shoddy defense.  Pelf’s 8 innings of 1 run ball, did not figure into the decision after Frankie Folding Chair couldn’t find the strike zone and then Ruben Tejada and Cpt. Kirk misplayed a flyball...
